Buxton & Leek College offers a variety of short courses including Health and Safety, IOSH, First Aid and more that are listed below. They will help your staff brush up on key skills, learn new ones or keep up with industry standards, keeping your staff safe and effective and your business compliant.
We can also include these as part of a pre-Apprenticeship or a Traineeship.

The successful running of courses is dependent on a minimum number of enrolments. If the numbers are not met, you will be notified in advance and a full refund given. A charge will be made for materials used depending on the course.

|Allergy Awareness||1/2 a day||Buxton or Leek||Throughout the year||£42||This is a new course designed for food handlers in catering and food retail businesses to help them develop awareness, comply with legal requirements to provide food allergen information for customers and operate as knowledgeable practitioners with regard to practical allergen management.|
|Healthier Foods & Special Diets||1 day||Leek||Throughout the year||£75||This qualification has been designed to provide a good, basic understanding of nutrition. The course is designed for employees who have a role in a catering environment and are involved in the selection of menus, recipes and ingredients. It is also relevant for those in the health care and education sectors.|
|Driver CPC Training(various modules)||1 day||Harpur Hill||Throughout the year||£73.50 per module||Any driver who obtained their LGV license who wants to drive for a living should have now completed Periodic Training.
If you haven't completed 35 hours' Periodic Training and registered it with the DSA, you won't be able to legally earn money from driving HGV Vehicles.

The new DVSA requirements mean that all testers must undertake a minimum of 3 hours’ MOT annual training, to remain up-to-date with best practice methods. All testers must also complete an MOT annual assessment, based on this learning, to maintain their professional status.
