The European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) are the EU’s main funding programmes for supporting growth and jobs across the EU.
As part of the Skills Staffordshire Consortium, Buxton & Leek College have been awarded a share of £2.5m from the ESIF, to invest into working with SME employers across Staffordshire, to develop the skills of their employees. Buxton & Leek College will be working with these SMEs to develop bespoke education packages to address the organisations’ specific training requirements, to help develop their employees.
The aim of the project is to encourage progression of current employees through:
- Increased responsibilities
- Increased hours or pay
- Supporting them through an Apprenticeship or higher level qualification
