Enrolment is the process which confirms you are a student at the College and allows you to use UoD and other facilities like the library. You will be issued with your ID card so that at Buxton you can access all buildings.
You can enrol with us as soon as you have received your GCSE results. We have three enrolment days planned at both our Buxton and Leek campuses, the first one is GCSE results day:
Thursday 24th August – anytime between 9am and 7pm
Friday 25th August – anytime between 9am and 5pm
Tuesday 29th August – anytime between 9am and 7pm
You can come to enrol at any point on these three days. You will need to bring with you the original copy of your GCSE exam statement of results if you are receiving them in August 2017. If you got your GCSE results in August 2016 you will need to bring your certificates. Please also bring with you:
- A form of identification (i.e. either a passport, driving / provisional license, NI card, debit/credit card or birth certificate)
- Some paper and a file
- Pen and pencil

We’re here to help!
All of our tutors and support staff will be available for you to talk to at any time during enrolment days. You will be able to discuss your results, any questions you have about College, your course, or any other course if you have changed your mind about the one you have chosen. Remember, we are open all throughout July and August, so if you have any questions or want any help and advice, you don’t need to wait until enrolment. You can pop into campus, call us or drop us an email.
Parents
Parents are also welcome to come in with students for enrolment to ask any questions or speak to any of our tutors or support staff. There will be a Parent Information Evening on Tuesday 26 September at the Buxton campus, from 5pm to 7pm. You will receive more detailed information about this closer to the time.
Starting in September – Your Induction
Following enrolment, we’ll then see you back in College on the first day of your Study Programme, which will either be Monday 4th or Tuesday 5th September. The exact dates for your course will be confirmed and available on the website by the end of July.
This will be the beginning of your BLC Experience as a student, where you will undertake lots of fun induction activities, based on your course and the College!
During this time you’ll have a series of induction sessions to find out more about College life, support services and facilities available to you. It can be a daunting time but remember we’re committed to helping you settle in and getting you set up so that you enjoy your time with us and are successful on your course. If there is anything that you cannot remember, didn’t understand or need more information on then you can ask one of the College team or look it up on these pages.
