For prospective students looking to take their next step, we are holding an Advice Evening for those looking to enter the job market or further their studies by exploring apprenticeships, further education or higher education.
The Advice Evenings will be taking place on Wednesday 21st June at Leek and Thursday 21st June at Buxton, both from 5pm-8pm and will provide advice, guidance and support to those exploring their options.
There will be tutors available to talk through the details of courses, as well as a dedicated Career Coach on hand at the events who will be able to advise on study pathways and careers. There will also be support in CV writing, online applications, and interview tips and guidance for students looking to find out more about apprenticeships.
Also at the events, detailed information will be available about apprenticeships, including all of the latest vacancies that are currently available with local employers. Apprenticeships can start at any time of the year, therefore anyone aged 16 or above, with the right entry requirements could be eligible.
Jack Price, Assistant Principal of Buxton & Leek College said: “We work closely with local employers to develop our courses and ensure that our learners have the skills necessary to progress into employment or further education. At our Advice Evenings students can get guidance on their options for the future whether they’re looking for information on careers, vocational training or progression to University.”
