This course will allow you to progress onto similar degrees at the University of Derby or other Universities or into a career in the sector.

Why choose this course

Many of our students are interested in careers in the emergency services especially the so-called “blue light” services such as police, fire and rescue. However, as a graduate of this programme, you would be of interest to employers in all three sectors, public, private and voluntary. The issue of building resilience and emergency preparation and management is as at the forefront of all organisations’ current and future planning.

This Foundation Degree is almost unique. It has been well received by practitioners in the field as a programme, which is very current. Students are encouraged to volunteer for local agencies and there will be an opportunity to participate in overseas volunteering in the second year.
