If you think Apprenticeships are only for the young, think again
Each year thousands of adults gain the skills and qualifications they need to progress in their career and increase their earning potential with an Apprenticeship.
Apprenticeships are ideal for developing the skills that are specific to your current job role or developing competence for a new role. You’ll attend College one day a week and continue a job for the other four days. Apprenticeships are at the forefront of Government education reform and many changes have been implemented to create standards for Apprenticeships that are employer-led. This means that opportunities for high level and professional Apprenticeship positions are opening up to the future workforce who are either looking for an alternative route onto a University degree or to gain a highly recognised qualification that will help enhance their career ambitions.
The University of Derby and Buxton & Leek College are offering, and are continuing to develop, a range of Higher Apprenticeships, and very soon Degree Apprenticeships, that meet employer need and local skills requirements.
We offer Apprenticeships in:
- Business, Management & Finance
- Computing & ICT
- Beauty, Spa & Media Make Up
- Hairdressing & Barbering
- Childcare & Education
- Health & Social Care
- Hospitality & Catering
- Logistics, Warehousing & Storage
- Motor Vehicle & Motor Sport
Your current employer may be entitled to financial support to help you complete your Apprenticeship. If you’re not currently in work we can help you to find an employer who is recruiting Apprentices.
