Bursary Funding

16-24 CARE LEAVERS BURSARY

This bursary is for eligible apprentices who are in care or are care leavers. It will help remove financial barriers to accessing and completing apprenticeships.

For apprentices who start their apprenticeships up to and including 31 July 2023, the bursary is a single payment of £1,000. It can only be received once by an individual care leaver.

For apprentices starting their apprenticeship on or after 1 August 2023, the bursary will be £3,000. It is payable in instalments over the first year of the apprenticeship.

CHARITABLE FUNDING

If you are facing financial hardship, you may be able to apply to a charitable trust for support. There are many charitable trusts with different criteria.If you feel that you need extra financial support, and are not sure where to start, make an appointment with our Student Adviser for further guidance. Alternatively, visit turn2us for information about applying to charities.

Local Charities:

binghamtrust.org.uk  – Financial support for people who live in Buxton studying in Further Education.
Fairfield School Foundation – Financial support for people living in the Fairfield area of Buxton.

gingerbread.org.uk – is a charity for single parents where you can find expert advice and practical support.
