How can I find out more about the courses and programmes on offer?

Are your courses only for school leavers?
Anyone of any age can apply for our programmes, courses or apprenticeships in a range of different subject areas, though funding and course cost may vary dependant on age. Please get in touch to discuss your individual circumstances. We also offer evening classes, training, Access courses, University level qualifications and skills-based courses. How do I apply and what happens next?
You can apply at any time through our online application form. Remember, you can apply to as many providers as you wish to and at any time of year.
After you apply, our Admissions team will be in touch with you for any further information and to arrange a convenient time for a telephone interview with you and your tutor. If your interview is successful, you will receive a course offer followed by enrolment information near the start date of your chosen programme.
I won’t have my GCSE exam results, does this change how I apply?
This doesn’t change how you apply. Please complete the application form as usual and we will be in touch with you as outlined above.
Can I still apply for an apprenticeship at the moment?
You can apply for an apprenticeship at any time of the year, start dates for the qualification and with your employer are held throughout the year. Apprenticeships are open to any age range, not just school leavers, and we have many apprentices who start later on in life. Take a look at our current apprenticeship vacancies.
Are you currently holding any Open Days, Advice Evenings or on-site events?
At the moment we are not holding any face to face events due to government restrictions. We will be holding online events that you can attend in the near future – if you’re interested in this, please email enquiries@blc.ac.uk and we will be in touch with you once these are up and running.
I’ve already applied and been offered a place – do I need to do anything?
If you’ve already applied for your course, had an interview and accepted your place at Buxton & Leek College then you don’t need to do anything at this stage. Your place at the college still stands, and we will be in touch with you later on in the year to arrange for you to enrol.
