With the festive season fast approaching, it is time for BLC Apprenticeships to launch our Christmas Country Fair.
We’re hosting a whole hamper of family-friendly competitions that are completely free to enter for all ages and we would love for you to take part! Why not get your parents and friends to join in the fun too!
We are looking forward to seeing what everyone is creating and hope you all enjoy getting involved!
To enter any of the competitions below, simply email your entry to feapprenticeships@blc.ac.uk and include your name, age, and your chosen category.
All entries will then be separated and judged in the following age categories:
- 12 and Under
- Over 13
All 1st place winners will be put forward to win overall ‘Best in Show’ sponsored by The Buxton Crescent Health Spa Hotel – which will be judged by Buxton & Leek College Principal Len Tildsley.
Our Best in Show prize this year will be a FREE spa day for two people at The Buxton Crescent Health Spa Hotel, our sponsor for this year’s Fayre!
This will include:
- Use of spa facilities 9am-3pm.
- 2 course lunch.
- Drinks with lunch.
- One spa treatment each.
Category 1 – Show your best festive pet photo!
Send in either a photo or video of your pets at Christmas! They could be dressed up in a Festive outfit, getting up to mischief or looking cute under the Christmas tree. We are looking forward to seeing what they have been up to this festive period!
To be judged by: Kath Ferns and Fiona Kearns.
1st Prize to be: TBC
Category 2 – Show us your best Christmas jumper or festive outfit!
Send in a photo of your favourite Christmas jumper or Festive outfit.
To be judged by: Tina Lancaster and Alison Loxton.
1st Prize to be: TBC
Category 3 – Design a Christmas decoration to go on our BLC tree.
Design a Christmas decoration on paper that we can hang on our BLC Christmas tree! Be as creative as you like, using coloured card, glitter, tinsel and more.
To be judged by: Rachel McVeigh, Elizabeth Maher, and Jill Hutchinson.
1st Prize to be: TBC
Category 4 – Festive Nails, Hair or Make-up.
Have some fun creating fun festive designs with your hair or nails or send in a photo of your perfect Christmas season make-up look. The more ‘Christmassy’ the better!
To be judged by: Ruth Nuttall, Sheila Hughes, Emma Cutts.
1st Prize to be: A selection of hair/beauty products.
Category 5 – Best festive baking!
This could be a decorated cake or gingerbread house, decorated cookies or Gingerbread men.
To be judged by: Paul Broadbent, Steve West, and Tracey Wainwright.
1st Prize to be: Signed book.
The closing date for all entries will be midnight on Friday 10th December, with judging and contacting all winners taking place shortly afterwards.
