4th January 2020
Following the announcement from the Prime Minister tonight, we are considering any required changes and will update students tomorrow. This week will continue as a remote learning week as detailed in the information below posted last week.
30th December 2020
Following the announcement by the Secretary of State for Education this afternoon, Buxton & Leek College will be following the latest national guidelines and will be undertaking remote learning for all programmes during week commencing 4thJanuary. Students following full-time Study Programmes and those on Apprenticeships are likely to return to campus-based delivery from 11th January or in some exceptional cases, 18th January. While undertaking remote learning, the normal timetable will continue to operate. Teaching staff and Progress Coaches will be in touch as soon as possible by email, text or telephone to confirm arrangements, although due to the holiday period, this may not be until Monday 4th January. Although this additional remote learning week was not planned, all staff and students are well prepared for these disruptions and our experiences of the past 10 months mean that learning can continue despite last minute changes to government guidance such as this.
As a result of this, there will be no college buses running w/c 4th January 2021. We are currently planning to resume college buses on the 8th January for those who have examinations.
Please monitor social media and the College website for further updates.
