Level 2 Hairdressing students Christmas appeal success

Our Level 2 Hair Students at the Leek campus have been busy gathering together Christmas parcels to donate to a local charity, Lighthouse Refuge – Glow.

The campaign has been driven by Level 2 Hairdressing Student, Katie Howley, who said:

“The aim was to be able to provide a toy parcel to give to each child in a women’s refuge over the city. In total we have managed to get parcels for 38 families from the donations made. We have ensured that each item has been cleaned and sterilised and then made into gift parcels for a wide range of children.  We have also made gift parcels for the mums as well – It’s been a real team effort and everyone on the course has got involved.”

Course tutor, Sarah Stonier, said: “the students have gone above and beyond for this appeal, making sure each child has something to open on Christmas morning. I am immensely proud of this group -they have really put everything into this and have shown how much kindness and good will these students have.”

Lighthouse Refuge Leader, Chrissie, who collected the parcels added:

“I would like to say a huge thank you to the students and staff of the college, this will make such a difference. To be able to give (not only the children, but the mums also) a parcel this Christmas is such a lovely thing to do.

“With everything that has happened this year, funding has been down so to receive such a wonderful donation and to be supported locally by the College, really does mean a lot.”

A massive congratulations and well done to the Level 2 Hair students!
