THOSE lucky enough to find a new iPad or digital camera in their Christmas stocking next month can learn how to get the most out of them with January’s new Learning for Leisure courses at Buxton & Leek College.

Getting Started with your Digital Camera and Apple iPad for Beginners are among the learning opportunities on offer at Biddulph High School and the Leek College Campus respectively. And both offer free tasters allowing learners to try before they buy.

Open to all adults aged 19 and over, courses start on January 10 with a taster session at Leek in Portuguese conversation. Linguists also have a chance to learn Spanish, French and Italian with more arty types being offered Floristry Techniques, Pottery and Craft classes as well as Art in the Glasgow Style.

Most evening classes run from 7pm until 9pm with Pottery being offered on Fridays both morning and afternoon. Fees start at £25 for a day-long workshop and go up to £120 for ten sessions of Pottery with fee remission available for some learners (conditions apply).

Would-be students should confirm their interest by enrolling now to ensure enough places are provided. Call 0800 0740099 or visit http://www.blc.ac.uk/courses/leisure for more information.
