Students pamper for Cancer Research

Hair & Beauty students at Buxton & Leek College have raised more than £360 for Cancer Research UK by organising a pamper session for a group of friends.

Freya Andrew, College Salon Supervisor, planned and organised a team of Level 2 and 3 Beauty students at the Leek salon to put on a pamper evening to support the charity.

At a cost of £20 per ticket, guests were welcomed to a whole host of treatments ranging from mini hand and arm massages, mini facials, manicures, pedicures and Indian head massages followed by complimentary refreshments.

Suzanne Sheldon, who had the idea to arrange the event said: “It was a fabulous ‘chill out’ evening with friends, chatting between treatments and feeling really pampered at the end of the night.  Many thanks to all the super therapists.”

Amanda Garrington, Operations Manager of the fully equipped salons at Buxton & Leek College said: “With one in three people being affected by cancer at some stage in their life it is amazing for our learners to fully engage and give something back to this very worthy cause.

“We are delighted to support this fantastic cause and look forward to providing more events like this in the future.”
