Talented student wows audiences at London Exhibition

A student from Buxton & Leek College was selected to feature their work the annual exhibition of University of the Arts, London.

Art & Design student, Courtney Lovatt, was given the rare opportunity to have her work showcased at the ‘Origins Exhibition’, which displayed the work of the best Art & Design and Creative Media Production & Technology further education students from across the country.

Origins is a showcase of exceptional student work from over 170 UAL Awarding Body approved colleges and universities across the country, including Buxton & Leek College.

Courtney, who has just completed the first year of her course exhibited a stunning garment that was her end of year project, at the event held at the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane.  She attended the exciting private view evening with Anne-Lise Fraser, Curriculum leader for Art & Design

Anne-Lise Fraser, who put Courtney’s work forward for consideration, said: “It was an amazing event and Courtney’s garment attracted a lot of attention, especially as it was so imaginative, creative and beautifully made.

“For many of the students, including Courtney, this is the first time they have exhibited outside of a school or college environment. She should be proud of her achievements.”
