Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join our team in providing a high standard of education and care for children in a homely environment, supporting each child as individuals and working towards being a key worker for a group of children. Whilst undertaking the role the apprentice would need to work within set standards and policies including safeguarding and health and safety policies amongst others. In addition to day-to-day duties the apprentice will also attend staff meetings and training as required.
Annual wage £8,500 a year

Hours
28 hours in the workplace plus off-the-job training and college attendance as required. Total hours per week; 34
The apprentice will work within the hours of Monday to Thursday 9am to 3pm and Friday 9am to 1pm, term time only.
Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Responsibilities & Duties;
- Provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment in a curiosity approach setting and also when out and about, at forest school or on the allotment
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Follow policies and procedures including safeguarding, nutrition, fire evacuation, accidents etc
- Treat each and every child as a unique individual and support them in their development
- Work towards the Early Years level 3 Apprenticeship
- Monitor and support each child’s development, including maintaining and administering children’s records
- Liaise in parentship with parents and carers to work cooperatively with other team members fostering a whole team approach
- Carry out other tasks and responsibilities as appropriate

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation.
Your training course
Early Years Educator Level 3
Your training plan
You will attend campus every 6-weeks for an activity day with other Apprentices, you will also be visited in the workplace regularly by your college Instructor-Mentor. They will complete observations, professional discussions and ensure you remain on track to achieve your apprenticeship.

Essential qualifications
- GCSE English (Grade 4/C or above) essential
- GCSE Maths (Grade 4/C or above) essential

Other requirements
The applicant should carefully consider transport due to school location and also the requirement to attend training days in Buxton. The role is subject to an enhanced DBS check; the successful applicant will be supported to complete this. We go out and about in all kinds of weather (taking account of health and safety issues) so would need to be prepared for working outdoors.
