£11,064 a year
The advertised pay is for the first 12 months after which it will increase in line with minimum pay rates based on age.
Working week
Working hours are general office hours such as 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with some flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends such as student enrolment and open days.
Total hours per week: 37.5 hours a week

What will the apprentice be doing?
- To provide comprehensive administrative support to the Learner Journey (Student Services) team as directed by the Operations Manager.
- To be the first point of contact for transport queries including the wider University, High Peak Bus Company, students, teachers, parents and any other internal and external stakeholders.
- To coordinate transport issues at the start and end of the day, communicating issues and resolutions to stakeholders.
- To provide initial information on bursary and transport as appropriate and sign posting when required.
- To support the administrative processing of Student Bursaries and communications around Bursaries with students, parents and staff.
- To lead a Level 3 Business project.
- To support team meetings, recording minutes and actions, disseminating these in a timely way.
- To organise and update information and maintain student records including those related to the Student Bursaries and Pay My Student.
- To use ICT systems (Office 365, Student Record System, e-Tracker and PayMyStudent etc.) to provide administrative support to the academic staff.
- Undertake general clerical functions including filing, photocopying, collating, and distributing documents.
- To liaise with academic staff and other internal departments as required on issues of student attendance, retention, and welfare.
- Assist in monitoring and delivery of an excellent customer service.
- To ensure the Health and Safety of self and others and that Equality and Diversity is encompassed and maintained.
- To comply with all aspects of the Data Protection Act.
- To comply with the colleges’ mandatory safeguarding statutory duty.
- Undertake any other duties as requested, commensurate with the level of post.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will gain a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration through on and off-the-job training.
You will attend face-to-face activity days every 6 to 8 weeks and have workplace progress reviews from your College instructor-mentor. You will also have a workplace mentor who will help you to understand college processes.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Although there is no guarantee of a permanent position on completion many previous apprentices still work for Buxton & Leek College or the wider University.

This role is based at Buxton & Leek College and you will work across both campuses, you will be able to use the college transport network including the free shuttle bus between Buxton and Leek however, please consider how you will get to work each day.
