The opportunity for the right candidate to learn new skills in a professional kitchen with the support and direction coming from a skilled and knowledgeable group of experienced professionals.
Annual wage £18,844
- Wage is paid weekly
- Lunch is provided when working a full workday
- Tips are distributed per shift with equal shares for all team members
- Certain soft drinks, tea and coffee free whilst on shift
- We organise a weekend off for team members when possible
Hours 48 hours per week including college day
Thursday to Sunday 10.30 am start to finish with some degree of flexibility

Work
The candidates will be assigned a mentor to instruct in all areas, with particular emphasis on kitchen hygiene, preparation techniques, the handling and preparation of fresh ingredients, and the general disciplines required to increase your knowledge and awareness of good kitchen practices.
What you’ll do at work
- Check deliveries, store and rotate stock as required.
- Pre-service preparation including getting stock to kitchen stations as required, cleaning and stocking of prep fridges.
- Assisting the team and learning techniques and procedures required during service.
- Completion of routine tasks and the learning of basic hygiene requirements.
- Closing down of all kitchen areas with particular attention to storage and clean down.

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training plan
Training will take place in the workplace alongside weekly on-campus college days at the Buxton Campus (college transport is available), there are a range of training kitchens, an award-winning student-lef bistro, Harpurs, and access to student facilities. You will also have regular workplace visits from your college instructor-mentor who will complete observations, and professional discussions and ensure you remain on track to achieve your qualification.
