Art & Design

If you’re a creative person with a passion for the arts and are interested in working within the creative industries, then one of the Art & Design programmes at BLC is the ideal pathway to a rewarding and successful career.

Our William Morris Building for Art & Design houses top of the range facilities, which include photographic darkrooms, laser cutters, spacious studios and technologies to facilitate 3D, textiles, ceramics & glass, and print making. Students have access to Adobe Creative Suite with the latest industry software for design, and the chance to showcase their hard work at craft markets and events, and an end of year exhibition. Our links with local employers provide excellent placement opportunities, and guest speakers and educational trips create a fuller understanding of working in the creative industries.

From mastering the latest techniques to creating and selling your own products and artwork, it’s incredible where a course at BLC can take you.

Many of our former students have progressed into higher education to study fashion or fine art or have begun to make a living from their creativity as photographers or designers.

You will learn from highly skilled and innovative tutors who have extensive teaching and real industry experience and have been featured in countless group exhibitions and studios across the country.

Whether you are deciding on your next steps after school, already working in a creative profession or you would like a career change, we offer a variety of programmes to suit your needs and help you in your dream career.

You can take a virtual tour of our campuses and facilities here.
